Additional information:
These beans come from Kaithapara, a village in the district of Idukki. Due to the large mountains and the stable climate, there was already cocoa there in the 18th century, brought from the Indonesian island of Amboyna. Different varieties of cocoa - especially the Forastero type - were introduced into Kerala. This cocoa from Kaithapara is a real Indian treasure.
